Dear devotees,
Please accept my best wishes. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.
I don’t know how many of you are aware, but some days ago the GBC Body published an in-depth study of Srila Prabhupada’s final conversation with Narayana Maharaja, a disciple of one of his Godbrothers.
Among other things, Narayana Maharaja has been claiming that in that meeting Prabhupada instructed him to basically take the leadership of ISKCON, as if he were his successor as the acarya or head of the movement. He has also been claiming that Srila Prabhupada had a very negative attitude towards his disciples, and did not take them seriously as devotees. On this basis he and his followers have been aggressively targeting ISKCON devotees and trying to influence them to give up Srila Prabhupada’s ISKCON and join them, including, of course giving up their ISKCON gurus.
The GBC study shows that these ideas are all quite untrue.
It is lengthy (about 40 pages) and is in three parts. The first part is an short introduction. The second part is the transcript of that final conversation between Narayana Maharaja and Srila Prabhupada, and the third
part is the in-depth study. I would suggest that you read the introductory letter first, and then the in-depth study, and then, if you feel you need to, the transcript of the conversation.
If any of you have heard about these things and would like clarification via the GBC study, we have attached it to this message, and you can download it by clicking here.
If any ISKCON devotees have heard these claims before, and have felt confused by them, I’m sure the study will help tremendously. If after reading it you still have some questions you can contact me.
Hoping this meets you well.
Your servant,
Bhakti Caitanya Swami
